I remember when I moved into my first apartment after college, I told myself I didn’t need to do anything special with my home, because it was temporary.
I never felt truly settled, and buying things that fit my style felt frivolous. Our space didn’t have many pictures or decor, and I realized that my apartment, with my then-boyfriend-now-husband Dale, was incomplete and affecting my mental health. We just had an apartment - not a home.
Dale and I have lived in five apartments since then - and I have learned that Home encompasses so much more than just the roof over your head.
Your Home is a reflection of the things that matter most to you. Home is your safe space, Home is the place to nurture and nourish yourself and your loved ones.
Having a beautiful space can soothe your nervous system, it can help you manifest your dreams and it can support you in the person you are becoming.
I believe that caring for your Home is also caring for You.
When we went into Quarantine this March, Dale and our pup Charlie had only lived in our current home for a month. As we adjusted to much more time spent inside - my creative outlet became my Home. I enrolled in Kelly Robinson’s interior design course, Where Spirit Meets Space, and Kelly gave me the push I needed to start having fun with my styling, trusting my own design intuition and creating the beauty I craved in my Home. Paired with my love for interiors and my own self taught knowledge - I’ve decided to start my own blog!
Thank you so much for joining me here - I cant wait for what’s to come! Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments and share a little about your space, I would love to meet you!
